Set:
Relaxed but excited.
(I love first timers)

Setting:
A simple Sunday afternoon in sunny Los Angeles.

This High was: (for me)

"Set" is the mental state a person brings to the experience, like thoughts, mood and expectations. "Setting" is the physical and social environment. This can play a huge factor on your high. Be mindful of this.

Too many people/authority around. Its really really REALLY easy to get lost in the neighborhoods and the cell reception’s BOOTY. Find better views from a different POV.
Trust me.

The HIGH of the high :

First timers. That is all.

JK This trip will be one of those trips where the further away I get from the actual memory, the more beautifully saturated it becomes.

This little adventure couldn’t have gone any better - for the group. For me? It’s funny when I look back at it, I’m proud of myself. So many things went wrong because I wasn’t fully prepared BUUUT it still worked. Even though we

we got dropped off by a mini van with a brass jaguar mounted to the dash in the middle of a random neighborhood, walked into weird cave jokingly calling it a “sex den” only to find actual people living in it, illegally hopping a fence (dubbing ourselves the ILLegal Eagles) to then be corralled back to the trail later by a chopper after catching an iconic LA sunset -

I can report back to you: it worked. Yeah, we might have gotten lost a few times or had absolutely no cell service but we eventually got an uber and this is where the SHOUT OUT comes:

Thank you Uber driver for obviously being a mom & having your vehicle stocked with free snacks.

But ask me how hard we were laughing though?

Because I dont think I’ve laughed harder in my damn life. (maybe Valley of Fire?) Sure, this trip was a little rocky but every trip has tricks & tips to take away from it. Study the highs and lows to make next time even better.

The
Scariest
Part:

The sun had already set and we ended up getting lost down a winding driveway only to end up in an empty plot of land where a house was supposed to be. It felt as if we had just sunken into time a little deeper knowing we were going to need to find out way out.

The Take Away:
Every trip gets a little smoother.
